Annoying Orange

Being as it's to the right side of the Southern Labyrinth, you have to pass through it. Since buying it, you've cleared out the Unnecessary Bits, such as traps and aggressive monsters, one way or another.

Still, that doesn't mean you got everything...

If someone could please roll 2D6 to determine what happens on your journey TO the labyrinth...
Dusk the Best08/13/2017

/roll 2d6
MayoFriendBOT08/13/2017
@Dusk the Best: 2d6 = (5+4) = 9
GM08/13/2017
As you venture through the dark woods, in a part of the Southern Labyrinth you hadn't explored, a terrifying howl pierces the air. Suddenly, everything falls silent.

[Each character must make a 2D6 + Charm check. If you fail, you must either 1) use Hope to try again, or 2) accept this fate and roll 1D6.]
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
/roll 2d6+3
MayoFriendBOT08/13/2017
@Juno the Natural: 2d6+3 = (4+6)+3 = 13
GM08/13/2017
[NOTE: to succeed you have to roll 9, oops I forgot to say that.]

The silence passes over Juno and their followers. They're a little surprised that such a place would have a dark part of the woods like this. It's nothing to get hung up over though.

Dusk and her party isn't phased either. Maybe it was just a random wind? Because wind does what it wants, even in a labyrinth. Oh well.

@Walnut the 6th: 2d6+4 = (3+3)+4 = 10

Walnut's party feels some chills, but again, nothing out of the sorts. Wind is just a little extra chilly, that's all!
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"Shoulda brought more jackets!"

You've entered a medium-sized tatami room, but it feels small due to the toasty kotatsu that takes up most of the room. Atop the kotatsu is a bowl of untouched oranges and a traditional Japanese teaset. Smells like green tea? And for some bizarre reason, picture frames a nailed to the screens.

It's as though this scene is tempting you to take a break... even though you only just started?!

ETA > Towards the southern wall there is a sliding door.
[Everyone, roll a 2D6 + Wit roll to decide how tempted you are. Remember, you're allowed to swap any low die roll with a Hope roll!]

Juno shivers from the wind, rubbing their arms - thus the discovery of a kotatsu is a delight! They gravitate automatically to it, all too ready to settle in.
GM08/13/2017
Oh no. Juno's been tempted by the wiles of a warm and cozy kotatsu. All they can manage to do this upcoming turn is Rest,

and nobody can leave until they pull Juno from the kotatsu.

Worse yet—everyone roll 1D6 to see about the fate of their followers...

shit, guys. shit. 5 of Dusk's followers, 6 of Walnut's followers, and 6 of Juno's followers sit at the kotatsu as well.
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
Dusk is probably more impressed that they all fit.
Dusk looks at Walnut, "I guess you're too big to fit huh."
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"-- Hey!" Walnut gasps, pulling at a follower's arm, "Don't you know that's -"
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
Juno's just happily cozy! "Aah, this is nice... everyone should come sit...!"
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
That's. That's mean! She stops, mid-pull, and just stares in Dusk's direction.
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
She laughs joyfully, and then smacks Juno on the back, "We gotta keep going, buddy!"
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
"Ehhh... don't wanna..." Pouting, Juno just buries themselves further under the kotatsu. The slap doesn't affect them at all.
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
She digs her heels into the mat at her feet, yanking on the follower's arm with all her weight.
GM08/13/2017
Walnut: The follower whines. Wow!

"I can't help it! That walk was so tiring, and it's so comfy here!"
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"But you know!" Yank. "You know what this is! " And another. "Weren't you just here?" Again. "Get -"
And again.
"- Up!" Once more.
GM08/13/2017
There's tears flowing from their eyes. They're probably alligator tears, I mean, they can handle some yanking.

Another follower—one who isn't glued to the kotatsu—raises a brow and points.

"Walnut the 6th... I believe there was a trap in this room. Do you think this could be it?"
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"I mean, look at it - " She starts, then corrects herself, "Um - It... must be..."
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"Hmmm..." Dusk thinks very carefully.
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
Mentally, she kicks herself and her followers for ruining her plan to be cool and reveal her hidden knowledge at a crucial point in the dungeon.
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"Wait a second."
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
Juno is falling asleep at the kotatsu.
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
She looks at Walnut the 6th carefully. "I thought your name was Peanut."
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"You know it isn't!" She releases her grip on her follower's arm to point a finger in Dusk's direction, accusingly.
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"You look like a Peanut!!" She points back.
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
ZzzzZZzzzzzzZZZzz
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"No I - what does that even mean?!"
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"A peanut type of idol? Walnuts are wrinkly like."
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
What. What. What? She reaches up to run her hands over her face -
Wait.
"We're the same age!"
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"That's why I thought you're Peanut." Shruuuuugs. "I'm Peanut-like too, right?"
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"What? No, you're fine - we're cute! We're young and cute!"
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
She completely turns away from Walnut, and then examines the picture frames, are there anything in them?
GM08/13/2017
Dusk: They look like family photos, where every member of the family is looking away from the camera except for one young person. Over time—as these pictures seem to depict—less and less people surround the younger person. In the most recent photo, only the young person remains.

...

The framed photos look like they'd be a good source of Wood and Information (which you hear is used in creating some equipment or items?).
Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
Right. Oh god. They are still cute, aren't they? The followers would suggest as much but what if they're just fans sticking with them through a sense of nostalgia they're unable to properly part from? What if - she just got ignored!
Well, it's not a topic they should pursue anyway. Walnut leans into the table to examine the oranges.
GM08/13/2017
Walnut: The follower who spilled the beans on the trap looks a little guilty. Just a little.

There are seven oranges with bright orange skins. Because they're oranges. Hmm, eaten plain like this, each one would heal you a little bit. Useful, given that Halation had no means of providing the lot of you any sustinence or rations upon setting out.

[If you choose to take all 7, they will heal 1HP each as is (when you eat them.)]
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
Juno continues to rest happily enough~

GM08/13/2017
Juno: Resting is peaceful. Sleep is good.

But you have a dream of DOING RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE, STICKING A SWORD RIGHT THROUGH SOMEONE!! And saving a puppy from a tree! And walking an old lady across the street! Fuck yeah, you're dreaming of doing SO MANY GOOD THINGS!!!!

[You recover 1 Drive... and 1D6 HP... but you're already full on both things... so nothing happens.]
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
WHAT A GOOD DREAM - to be abruptly woken up from by oranges.
Juno blinks blearily at them, smacking their mouth a little... then picks it up and puts it in their mouth, skin and all.

GM08/13/2017
Walnut: Roll me a 1D6 for Reasons.

Dusk: You tear the family photos right off the wall, nail and all. In total there were 5, so you have x5 Wood and x5 Information! There are holes in the screens, but they interestingly lead into a dark place...
Juno: Well... the skin is unusually tough. And. And, it feels like something is biting your lip?? I think it's the orange. I think, the orange is biting your lip.

HEY, GUYS, THIS ORANGE HAS TEETH.
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
"Eh... Ehhhhhhhh!? O-ow! Owww! Itsh bitingh me!" Talk about a wake-up call!!
Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"Peanut, don't do that!" She turns back to see what the commotion is.

Walnut the 6th08/13/2017
"Then help me wake them up - "
Oh.
Oh. Oh dear. Surprised by her own strength, she drops the rest of the oranges.
GM08/13/2017
The orange pulls itself away from Juno, and bounces to the other side of the room... which isn't very large in the first place. And then, 4 more oranges roll with it.

And then.

It happens.
You've awakened the Annoying Oranges.

5 of them, to be exact.
Two normal oranges lay on the ground. They're probably normal?
Juno the Natural08/13/2017
"...mmmnn.... okay, let's go." Juno says, shuffling to get up, and very pouty.

Dusk the Best08/13/2017
"Nice to meet you, oranges?"
GM08/13/2017
The Annoying Orange laughs and says "ORANGE YOU GLAD YOU DIDN'T EAT US—!"

Then, they. Roll into action.
